What This Tool Does

The Words Containing Letters finder returns all words from any combination of your input letters. Because the solver does not have a positional must-contain filter, results include all words from the letter pool — not specifically words that must include every input letter. To ensure a letter appears in results, include it in your input and use Subset mode.

This solver does not have a 'must contain this letter' constraint. Entering STONE returns all words from S,T,O,N,E — including words that use only some of those letters (NET, TON, ONE). If you need words that must include S specifically, results will contain both words with S and without S from the remaining letters.

Enter your letter pool and the solver returns every valid word from any subset of those letters. Positional must-contain filtering (requiring specific letters to appear in results) is not supported — all words from the pool appear regardless of which specific letters they use.

STONE (5 letters) returns 35 words at all lengths from 3 to 5: EON, NET, ONE, SET, SON, TEN, TOE, TON (3-letter) plus NOSE, NOTE, ONES, SENT, SNOT, TONE (4-letter) plus NOTES, ONSET, SETON, STONE, TONES (5-letter). All words from any subset of S,T,O,N,E.

To find words that specifically include a required letter, review results manually. If you need only words containing a specific letter (e.g. only words with S), review results manually and identify those including S. The solver cannot enforce positional must-contain constraints automatically.

Sort by Length for Specific Needs

After entering your letter pool, sort by length and filter to the length you need. This gives a complete word list at any specific length from your available letters.

More Letters = More Coverage

A larger letter pool produces more results. If your initial search produces too few results, try adding letters that commonly combine with your known letters — vowels especially.

Exact Mode for Full-Letter Words Only

Switch to Exact mode if you only want words using all your input letters exactly once (strict anagram constraint). Subset mode (default) returns all words from any subset.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Expecting positional must-contain filtering. The solver finds all words from your letter pool but does not filter to only words containing a specific letter. If a must-contain letter is required in every result, this requires manual filtering of the results list.

Entering a single letter and expecting only words containing that letter. Entering S returns all 3+ letter words formable from S — meaning only words using one or more S letters. Results are words from the letter pool, not words with S in all positions.
